China기업의 국제화 전략(strategy)과 구조 4) Internationalization of Chinese Enterprises Strategy and Structure )이 재 유 허 흥 호 2) Abstract This paper intends to explore and evaluate the current stage of internationalization of Chinese enterprises. More specifically it examines the development and characteristics of both export and foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises since the open door policy initiated by late Deng in 1978. The paper also describes the various policy and institutional reforms adopted by Chinese government to expedite the internationalization process. Chinese enterprises are now at the very early stage of internationalization mainly based on the export strategy. Export markets are very limited focused on Asian markets and export products are also less sophisticated i.e. labor intensive ones.
